With planting a garden comes harvesting a garden. We planted several tomato plants, green peppers. zucchini, strawberries, raspberries, potatoes, cucumbers, and hot peppers.

We found that over the summer, the garden got neglected a bit. Having three kids, house work and maintaining the yard took up most of our time. I did go out a few times to weed it 🙂 Even though it got neglected, we still got quite a bit of produce from it, especially tomatoes! I love garden fresh tomatoes! They are just so yummy!

During September, I was able to bottle 21 pints of tomatoes, 21 bottles of pears, 28 bottles peaches, 24 quarts of apricots, and some fruit cocktail. I even put up some freezer jam. September was a super busy month for canning but a very fruitful one indeed. It’s so nice to look at our cold storage and see all of my hard work sitting on our selves! Adding to our food storage one step at a time!! Happy Harvest!!!
