Five years has gone by so quickly! It is hard to believe that my sweet baby girl is already that old. It makes me realize that I need to enjoy every single moment I have with my children. To celebrate Vanessa’s birthday, I took the kids to McDondals for lunch. They love going there to play and eat and it was fun watching them play.

After lunch, I dropped Sariah and Owen off at Grandma Sorensen’s house while I got to take Vanessa out school shopping. We went to Target and Vanessa got to pick out her clothes. We ended up getting a whole lot of PINK and lots of dresses. Vanessa is one that doesn’t like to wear jeans. She is definitely a dress/skirt kind of gal. I really had to persuade her to buy some leggins to wear with her skirts when it gets cold. I really enjoyed having some alone time with her. She is such a little sweet heart and so fun to be around. She was so excited to have new clothes to be able to wear to Kindergarten.

After getting home, I got the house cleaned and ready for the family party that night. But before the party, we were able to have a special dinner of Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Tomato Soup, Vanessa’s absolute favorite! It was YUMMY! We all enjoy grilled cheese!

It was soon time for family to come over for presents, cake and ice cream. Vanessa has wanted a pink Sleeping Beauty pajama dress for a couple of months. I kept reminding her that her birthday was coming up soon and that if she continues to be a good girl then she might get it. Well, she kept her promise of being good and was so excited when she opened up the box with the dress in it! She was absolutely thrilled! We also gave her some flip flops, a Butterfly Barbie and some Sleeping Beauty Barbie Clothes for her doll. Aunt Kimberly made her her very one Sleeping Beauty shoes! They are adorable! She also got a Kelly Barbie doll, clothes, a Princess back pack, and a mirror craft project. For her cake, Vanessa requested a pink castle cake. She even got to help me make it. We had a lot of fun rolling the cones in pink sprinkles and decorating the cake together. She is a great helper! The cake turned out so cute and she loved it! That night, we had our friends the Jones family stay with us. She had a party all night long playing with Anellina and Carsten. The kids have so much fun playing together. They really had a blast jumping on the air mattress. We sure had a fun day celebrating our sweet girl Vanessa. We love her some much and love what she adds to our family. We are definitely blessed to be her parents and are so excited to see her grow and progress in life. Happy 5th Birthday Vanessa!
