Vanessa was so excited to be able to turn 5 years old! At the beginning of the year, she told me that she wanted a Sleeping Beauty birthday party. I was able to make some fun decorations just for her. She was excited that she was going to have a friend birthday party. The day before her real birthday, she was able to invite some of the neighborhood girls to come over to her princess party. They all dressed up and had such a fun time playing together. I had some music playing and the girls decided to hold hands and dance to the music. It was so fun to watch them giggle and dance.

After dancing, each girl got to pick out a color of finger nail polish and we painted their nails. They loved being treated like a Princess and showing off their nails. For an activity, I cut out some Princess Aurora crowns and each girl got to decorate them with jewels. They all did such a great job of making it their own.
After decorating crowns, they got to pick a princess coloring page to color. Our kitchen was a bit too small to have all the kids sit around the table so we moved it and let them just lay on the floor to color. They loved that idea.
Next it was time to open presents. I always enjoy watching kids open presents and seeing how excited they are. Vanessa got lots of fun things from her friends. She got two My Little Ponies, a carriage bubble maker, coloring books, head bands, Disney Dress up Dolls, and finger nail polish. The girls kept telling Vanessa “Happy Birthday” while she was opening presents. It was too cute.

At last it was cake time! I made some Princess Aurora cupcake toppers and pink cupcakes. I wanted to get a picture of them but the girls all grabbed them before I could snap one. It was sure fun being able to have Vanessa’s friends over to help her celebrate her birthday. It really made her feel special and loved.
