I was able to run our city’s Heritage Days 5k with some friends from my ward. It was sure fun running a race with them. It wasn’t too hard because I have been training for the Top of Utah Half Marathon in August. It was good to get in a practice run even though it was just 3 miles. I am so excited to be able to finally run a Half. It has been a goal of mine for quite sometime but the timing just wasn’t right but this year it is! I have been training with my friends Rachel, Rachelle, and Katie. We wake up every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and run together. It has been so nice training with friends and fun to be able to talk with them while running. It helps pass the time better and take our minds off of running. This past Saturday we ran 12 miles!! It was our longest run before the race in three weeks. I kept telling myself that I could do this and finish and I did! It is amazing to think that just 5 weeks before I thought that I would never be able to run that much! It is so exhilarating and gives me a huge confidence boost! I’m getting really excited to finally run this race and check it off my bucket list!
