This year Owen wanted a Dinosaur Birthday Party with a T-Rex cake. He was so excited this year. He had so much fun telling people that it was his birthday and that he was now 3! I started working on some of the decorations a few weeks before his birthday. I was able to make a fun Dino banner, his invites, and I decorated the house using his bedroom decor and all of his dinosaur toys! The morning of his birthday he woke up and was so excited to his the house decorated just for him. What a little cutie!

We got to celebrate Owen’s birthday twice. On Friday, his real birthday, I took the kids to the splash pad to play and have a picnic. Owen had fun playing on the slides and splashing in the water. He loved it. We got home and I was able to finish making his cake. He LOVED it! HE couldn’t stop talking about it and touching it! It was sure fun to watch him.

That night, Daddy brought home some pizza for his birthday dinner. He loves pizza and was happy to eat it! After dinner, we opened presents. We gave him a building block castle, measuring tape, and Dino pajamas. He wanted to play with the castle right away so we built it with him and enjoyed playing with it. He has such the imagination and it is so fun to play with him.

Saturday was the big family party. We had a lot of family come to help us celebrate. Grandpa and Grandma Mendoza, Maria, Reagan, and Aunt Chole came. Also Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen, Kimberly, Arianne, Laura, Great Grandpa and Grandma Carter, the Thomson family, and the Jones family. It was sure fun having everyone there to celebrate! Owen picked hotdogs to have for dinner and salads. It was yummy!
Present time came and he couldn’t have been more excited! All he wanted to do was unwrap the paper. Every time something came in a box he would look at it and say “Oh a box!” and then move on to the next present! We had to make him stop to open the boxes. He got some dinosaurs, a dinosaur bingo game, coloring books, books, light sabers, a tool set, Dino flip flops, and clothes.

After presents, we went outside and the kids got to hit a pinata. It was too hard for them to break but they still had a fun time hitting it. We then were able to bring out the Dino cake and finally light the candles. Owen was so excited to blow the candles out that started singing to himself. We all had to quickly join in to help him finish the song! That night was also our city’s heritage days so they shot off fireworks. We have a great view from our backyard. It was a great way to end the day!

Happy Birthday Owen!
