We have a tradition for New Years Eve where we met up with the Jones family. This year it was our turn to go to their house and party. The kids were so excited to finally go up to Evanston and visit their friends. We packed our bags and got up to a VERY cold Evanston. It was 4 degrees when we pulled up in their driveway! Yikes!

We made it up there by dinner which was a yummy pasta bar. We had all sorts of delicious toppings that everyone loved! After dinner, we let the kids play while we cleaned up and chatted while we got the chocolate fountain ready. The chocolate fountain was a bit messy with 5 kids but oh it was so worth it! It was delicious! After eating lots of treats, we decided to have the kids celebrate a bit early so we counted down and did poppers. The kids were so excited and wanted to decorate the house with all the streamers from the poppers. They were have too much fun! We got them tucked into bed and to sleep around 11 pm. That left us parents a few hours to play some games.

We decided to play Skip-Bo thinking it would be a fast game. We all remember it being fast but it was not fast. We had to take out 60 cards and change the rules a bit to make it go quicker. I think we were playing wrong. We actually missed the real countdown but celebrated it a few minutes later with sparkling cider. We ended up playing a few more games and the guys stayed up later playing XBOX. It was a fun night!

We stayed the day with the Jones’ so the kids could play a bit longer before going home. It is always hard for Vanessa and Anellina to say goodbye. They are such good friends! We are so grateful for great friends to be able to do fun things with! We have had this tradition for 3 years now and we hope to continue it for years to come! Happy New Year!!DSC_0673 DSC_0674 DSC_0675 DSC_0677 DSC_0679 DSC_0680 DSC_0683 DSC_0685 DSC_0686 DSC_0687 DSC_0691 DSC_0695 DSC_0697 DSC_0701 DSC_0704
