Halloween is always a TREAT and such an exciting time of the year! Lots of dressing up in costumes and attending Halloween parties! Vanessa was Elsa, Sariah was Anna, Owen was a Power Ranger, Captain America, and a skeleton, and Chad was an adorable lion. We kicked off the festivities by doing our annual Sorensen Family Halloween Evening (FHE). We got together with all the clan and had some spooking Mummy pizza, candy corn fruit trifles, Halloween jello and homemade root beer. It was a fun night of dressing up and playing with the cousins.

Next up was the ward Trunk or Treat. We met with lots of neighbor and friends and enjoyed a dinner outside before letting the kids go trunk to trunk and fill their bags full of goodies. There were lots of cute costumes and even a scary one too! Sariah did not like the scary man and wouldn’t let go of my leg when he was near by. The other kids didn’t like him much as well but it was a very creative costume!

School parties were up next. Owen had his preschool Halloween party on Thursday. He was Captain America. He had a lot of fun making Halloween crafts, goodies, and Trick or Treating to his classmates. Vanessa had her school party today, Friday. We went and watched the Halloween costume parade. There were lots of Elsa’s, Anna’s, and Ninja Turtles. I was able to go and help with her class party. The kids got to decorate a Halloween cookie, play Halloween Bingo and other games, and make a craft. She had a lot of fun. I even was able to eat lunch with her. She was really excited to have me join her! It was sure fun to spend some time with just her.

Finally, we were able to have our Halloween Family dinner before going Trick or Treating. The kids wanted Mummy Pizza again. We also had eyeballs (green grapes), dragon wings (Salad), and blood (red juice). They got really excited to eat dinner. I should think of creative names for all the food we eat. Maybe they would eat it better. After hurrying to eat our food, Dad took our crew out to go trick or treating around our neighborhood. I stayed home with Chad to answer the door. We didn’t get very many trick or treaters like we did at old house. I probably answered our door 20 times. I guess it is just too much out of the way. So next year we are going get some really good treats to spoil the kids that do make it to our house. The kids had a lot of fun trick or treating and got lots of goodies. The weather was perfect! They didn’t even have to wear jackets. I love when the weather cooperates so the kids can actually enjoy the evening. We finished off the evening watching “Hotel Transylvania” with the kids. It definitely full of excitement and lots of sugar!
