This is our first Easter in our home. It is quite exciting to be able to hid eggs for the kids in our very own backyard!
My parents, Reagan and Maria came up on Saturday so they were able to celebrate Easter with us. They brought the kids some candy and a cute new outfit. We dyed some more eggs with them and after dinner, Reagan and Maria helped us hid the Easter eggs. The kids had fun gathering the eggs. Owen was set on only finding the green eggs so his pickings were pretty limited. We tried to convince him to pick up other eggs but found it pretty hard. What a funny little guy. On the other hand, Vanessa was raking in the eggs. Her basket was overflowing! It was fun watching them in their hunt for eggs.
We did the majority of our celebrating on Saturday. We decided that at our house the Easter Bunny comes on Saturday so it leaves Sunday open to celebrating the real meaning of Easter, which is the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Before we put the kids to bed, our scripture story was about Christ’s resurrection. Before we started to read, I asked Vanessa what Jesus did for us. She promptly replied, “He died for us because he loves us!” That was a proud parent moment! She said it perfectly! It was a great start to the spiritual day that was to come!

The Easter Bunny came and gave the kids some gifts. Owen got a basket filled with candy, legos, a ball, bath paint, and a new Easter Sunday outfit with three new ties. Vanessa got a basket full of candy, Squinkies, bath paint, and a Easter skirt and bow. Sariah got a book, some head bands, and a matching skirt and bow. What a fun day it was to be able to spend with my family!
