A wedding is never really a wedding without some drama, right? Well, we had to be the ones that added that aspect for Callie and Kenny. While we were waiting to get started with the luncheon at the church, Sariah got hurt. She was piggy back riding on her cousin’s back and fell off and landed right on the corner of an end table. It split the back of her head open and she was bleeding pretty bad. Head wounds always bleed so much which doesn’t help a mom and dad stay calm. We quickly cleaned her up and applied pressure to the wound and got her to an Instacare as fast as we could. We thought for sure that had a concussion. She hit so hard!
We got in to see the doctor and he said that it would need some staples. He looked her over and she didn’t show any signs of having a concussion but we would need to watch her to make sure she doesn’t. Sariah was so brave. She didn’t cry too much. She just wanted to be held and loved. She did really well with the staples too. She didn’t even cry when they were put in. She ended up getting 3 staples in her head. Poor thing! I absolutely hate when my kids get hurt. I feel so bad that I wasn’t able to protect her and that she got hurt. I guess that is the thing about life. I can’t protect my children from ever experiencing pain or hurt.
After getting the staples, we headed back to the Roberts’ house to let Sariah take a nap and to wash up. We looked like we were cast members from a horror movie. We had blood everywhere on us. Sariah took a good nap and when she awoke was ready to play. It didn’t seem to even phase her. We made her try and relax and not run around, which she didn’t like very much. We are so grateful that it wasn’t worse and that we were close to a Instacare to get it fixed. We are also thankful that we didn’t ruin their wedding. Phew!
