This year we celebrated the 4th of July with the Mendoza side of the family in Delta. We started the day off by going to the parade. The used to have F15 jets fly over the town to start the parade but because of budget cuts and the government saying no, they got the local cesna plane owners to take their place. It was fun to see all the planes and the kids loved watching them fly over. The kids got a whole bunch of candy and having 3 kids makes for A LOT of candy and a HUGE sugar rush! It started to get really hot towards the end of the parade and it was only 10:30 am. After the parade, we cooled off in the with the a/c on high and then went over to the park to walk around and look at the booths. I was able to see a few friends from high school and talk to them for a bit. After the park, we went back to the house and cool off again. It was sure hot outside!
For lunch, we headed to Great Grandma Rowley’s house and had a BBQ with some of the extended family. It was fun to see some of my cousin’s that I haven’t seen in a long time. It was also fun to spend time with my grandma.
After cleaning up, we headed back to the house to relax and play with the kids before heading up to see the fireworks. The kids were able to play in the little pool outside and it was a hit especially on such a hot day! We took the kids the the park and let them play on the playground while we waited for the fireworks. The fireworks were fun to watch with the whole family. The kids also had fun playing with Maria and Reagan. They practiced their cartwheels and summersaults and just had a blast. We sure had a great 4th of July in Delta. It brings back a lot of good memories of when I was growing up and it is fun to relive those with my own little family! There is nothing like a celebrating the fourth of July in Delta!
