Vanessa was in charge of our activity for Family Home Evening. She chose to learn how to decorate a cake. I had been making a few cakes for customers so I had a bunch of left over fondant and icing that we used to help decorate our cakes. I baked each kid their very own mini cake so they could personalize it how they wanted. The kids had fun frosting the cake and then rolling out the fondant to overlay on the cakes. I was very pleased to see how well each of them did! Vanessa really took care in how she placed and handled it and it turned out looking really smooth!
Next, was the fun part in cutting out shapes and decorating the cakes. It was such a fun activity to do and I really enjoyed teaching the kids how to work with frosting and fondant. Each of their cakes turned out to be masterpieces and they got to enjoy them for the next couple of days for dessert!
