Mr. Owen had his first official game of soccer! We didn’t sign up in time for AYSO so we did the city league. It is not bad but Owen is the youngest and smallest player on their team so he doesn’t get the ball to often and he has a hard time keeping up with the kids that our 2 years older than him. Because of this he had a hard time focusing on the game and not getting distracted. We had to keep reminding him to pay attention and to go after the ball and kick it. He would also get really tired of runny the field. Right in the middle of the game, he would come out and sit by us because he was just too tired. It was too funny!
After a few games, he started to get it down but he was still really frustrated that he couldn’t keep up with the other kids. We had to remind him that they were a lot older than he was and just to do his best. We will definitely make sure that we get him signed up for AYSO in time for Fall. They really do a great job in making sure the kids get on the right team so they can get the practice they need to learn the sport well. He is a good little player and we know with time and practice he will get better. It was really fun for us as his parents and his sisters to be on the side lines cheering him and his team on! Go OWEN!!!
