Easter is always one of my favorite holidays. It is a time where we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ and celebrate new life. This Easter is extra special because we get to celebrate new life within our family. Little Chad is finally here and life couldn’t be more sweet! The Easter week was really busy with his birth, family and events. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. This our first Easter as a family of 6 and it so much fun!

To start things off, our ward had a Spring Picnic and Easter Hunt for the kids. We had fun visiting with ward members and enjoying the cool weather. After dinner, the kids participated in the egg hunt. There was no limit set on how many eggs the kids could have so when they said to go all the kids, expect our little ones took off and grabbed all the eggs. Needless to say our three were a bit distraught they didn’t get any eggs.  Luckily there were a few kids that got a lot that were willing to share with them and make them feel happy.

As with tradition, I love to be able to make the kids their annual Easter Dresses. I was going to sew a cute tie for Owen but being 9 months prego, I just couldn’t get it done in time before Chad arrived. I did find a cute blue shirt that coordinated with the girls’ dresses so that counts…right? I had some fabric that I bought years ago to make some dresses for Vanessa when she was little but never got around to it. So I decided to make their dresses out of it this year. I used a t-shirt and sewed a pleated shirt on to it with a bow tie and flower. So easy and so cute! They turned out darling and the girls loved them!

Coloring Easter eggs is another fun tradition we like to do with our kids. They love seeing their eggs turn colors. I usually have the kids wear on old t-shirt while dying but this year they elected to take of their shirts off and wear aprons instead. It worked but Owen some how got stuck with the pink one. He looked too cute and I am sure that he will hate that picture once he gets older but I am sure glad we got a picture of him wearing it so proudly! We had Grandma and Grandpa Mendoza and Maria up for a few days to visit and to meet Chad.  They got in on the fun with dying the eggs and helping the kids. It was fun to have them up and they were a big help with the kids as I was trying to adjust to a new little one. After the eggs were dyed, we sent Grandpa and Maria outside to hide all the eggs to have our very own egg hunt. This time they were able to get a lot of eggs and even found their Easter baskets full of goodies!

Kimberly picked up some eggs on sale and oh boy did the kids have fun picking up all the eggs! The yard was just covered in them. They had to unload their baskets a few times in order to get them all gathered up! It was so much fun for them and I’m sure it will become a special tradition that we will be able to enjoy for years to come! Happy Easter!!DSC_0512 DSC_0515 DSC_0517 DSC_0520 DSC_0530DSC_0535DSC_0540DSC_0541
