The day before St. Patrick’s day, I told the kids that a little leprechaun would be coming to visit us in the night to hide some treats in our shoes. Vanessa and Owen were so excited and couldn’t stop talking about it all day. Well, when it came time for the kids to go to bed, Vanessa burst into tears and told us that she was scared because the leprechaun was going to come to the house. Then Owen started saying the same thing. We had no idea that he concept of a little leprechaun would terrify the kids. We had to calm them down and explain several times that our leprechaun is super nice. After much explaining we finally got them to sleep and in the morning the kids were surprised and excited to see that their shoes were filled with candy and that they had some presents to unwrap.
We spent the day, playing a new game that they got from Aunt Amanda and Uncle Solomon. They had so much fun playing the new hide and seek game. Hopefully next year, they won’t be scared of our little leprechaun.
