Christmas always comes too fast! Mark had to work the first part of the day so the kids and I got the house cleaned, played, and got dinner prepped for that night. When Mark got home, we took the kids over to Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen’s to make sugar cookies for Santa. We all enjoy getting in on the cookie making and decorating. Sariah’s favorite thing was to taste test all of the frosting. She was covered in it! We made some pretty neat cookies that I’m sure Santa will just love!

After cookie making, we headed back home to have our Christmas Eve dinner. We invited Mark’s family over to join us. Valerie has been spending most of her days down with Grandma Carter. She is still holding on but we are expecting her to go anytime. Valerie hasn’t had anytime to think much about Christmas so we wanted to help her out and have them join us for a nice dinner. It was fun to set up and have our first big dinner in our new home. The turkey dinner turned out delicious and it was so much fun spending the evening with family.

Later that night, the kids were able to open their Christmas Eve presents which were pajamas and put them on. We had a short lesson and talked about the true meaning of Christmas and of our Savior’s birth and life. It was nice to bring the focus back on where it should be, on our Savior. Then it was time to pick out cookies to leave for Santa and write him a letter. Vanessa enjoyed writing the letter and it was perfect! Children make holidays so much more fun! There is real magic that comes when a child believes!!20131224_160028 20131224_160058 20131224_160955 20131224_161009 20131224_161044 20131224_161533 20131224_170812 20131224_17075920131224_170827 20131224_210650 20131224_210455 20131224_210431
