Over the past year, we have watched Mark’s sweet Grandma Carter’s health deteriorate. At Thanksgiving, we knew by how she was looking that she wouldn’t be with us much longer. We got word the beginning of December that her health was rapidly failing. This Sunday, the family was called to gather at Grandma and Grandpa’s house to see to see her before she got worse and to say goodbye.
It was such a hard thing to do. Grandma Carter has been such a major part in all of our lives and saying goodbye was heartbreaking. She was able to talk to each one of us and give us lots of love and kisses. We also were able to celebrate her upcoming birthday as a family. She is such a wonderful woman full of love and has taught all of us so much about loving life and family. She has been such a great example and she will be missed deeply. We are grateful that we were able to go down and spend the day with her. We will always treasure the time we got to spend with her.
