Our kind of camping consists of setting up the tent in the backyard! This has proven to be a fail safe way to camp with kids. We made some tinfoil dinners and cooked them on our grill. They turned out delicious and the kids loved them too! After dinner, the kids had fun playing in the tent. Sariah especially loved running around inside the tent and getting her brother and sister.
Before it got too dark, we roasted some marshmallows and made s’mores. That is my favorite part about camping. We will definitely have to invest in a fire pit so we can make them more often.
We cleaned up and got the kids already for bed. They were too excited to fall asleep so we talked and watch a little movie on the iPad to calm them down. It worked and they soon fell asleep. It was still a bit chilly in the night so at around 2 am Mark and I woke up to all the kids in our sleeping bags. It was a bit too crowded so we took the kids inside and finished our camp out in the living room. We definitely had a camping adventure! We will have to do it again when it warms up a bit more.
