Mother’s Day is always such a special day. Motherhood has been my most challenging but most rewarding life experience. I have grown so much as an individual and have learned many life lessons and look forward to learning more. By becoming a mother, I have truly learned how to love unconditionally, multi-task, patience, call upon my Heavenly Father for help and guidance, patience, motivate, inspire, be a teacher, and did I mention patience? 🙂
I truly have loved these past 5 1/2 years of being a mother. Yes, there has been some challenging times but through it all, I have learned to call upon my Savior and Heavenly for help and guidance in raising my children.
I feel very blessed to be chosen to have three sweet and choice spirits and to be their mother.
I also have been blessed to have amazing mothers in my life who have helped shape me into the person I am today. They are such strong women and I look up to their examples and hope to be able to make them all proud!
My family was still up so they got to spend the day with us. We also were able to talk to my brother, Elder Cody Mendoza via Skype. It was so fun seeing him and talking with him. He has changed so much and we all just love the change. He is becoming such an amazing young man. He is doing well and is loving being able to teach the people of Uruguay.
Mark and the kids surprised me with a picture of Christ. I have been saying for months now that I would like one to go above our stair case. I was so excited to get one and I just love it! Now, I just need to cut some vinyl for a saying to go under it.
Also during the weekend, my mom and I were able to do some family history. We were able to look through some Catholic church marriage records and find my great grandparents! It was so exciting when their names popped up on the screen. It was even more exciting when we saw their parents names listed on the document. We were able to add 3 additional family lines taking us back 7 generations!! That is a huge start for us! We have many more family members to find but I know that we will be able to find them. It was such a great weekend celebrating a birthday, Mother’s day and finding family!
