As with tradition, we were surprised with gifts from the Easter Bunny waiting for us by the fireplace when we woke up. The kids were so excited! They got a few toys, coloring kits, slippers, a kite and candy. They enjoyed opening their baskets and playing with their toys.

Next came dying eggs. I got an idea off the internet of using Kool-aid for dye. I had several packs on hand so we tried it. The colors came out vibrant and fun and the kids loved the idea! We had fun drawing pictures on our egss and decorating them to our liking. Owen wanted me to draw a dinosaur and Vanessa wanted Sleeping Beauty. I tried my best and they came out looking semi-OK.

After getting all cleaned up and our Easter outfits on, we headed off to church and enjoyed feeling the Spirit and strengthening our testimonies about the Savior, his Atonement, death and resurrection. I am so blessed to have a testimony of my Savior. I know He loves us so much and that He lives and that if we keep the commandments and endure to the end, we will be able to live in His presence again! What peace this brings to my soul. I love the renewal that Easter brings.
After church, we had a nice Easter dinner and then had a little Easter egg hunt in our backyard. It is nice to have a backyard to do these type of things with our family. They kids were thrilled with all of the eggs. Owen loved finding all of the green and blue ones. Vanessa was set on finding all of the pink ones and Sariah was just excited to pick up dirt clumps and a few eggs in between. We had a great Easter weekend and our blessed to have been able to find it together.
