Our ward’s mens basketball team played in the region championships and come out as VICTORS!! It was actually quite the ride getting there. They played in the semi-final game last week and actually tied the game. They went into over time and lost by 10. In church ball, they go off of sportsmanship points before actually scored points so our ward actually won that game and moved on to the finals because the other team was docked for unsportsmanlike conduct. We found out about the win the day after the game. The guys were so excited to be playing in the championship.
On Saturday, we went and cheered on Dad and the team. Our team was really playing well together and was just sinking the 3-pointers. We had a 20 point lead going into the 3 quarter. They started play when a whistle was blown and the opposing team was issued their 2 technical foul which ended the game. So after 3 quarters of playing good basketball, our ward became the Region Champs! We were all very excited for our team!!! What a great accomplishment! After the game, Vanessa ran up to Dad excitedly and shouted, “Dad, you are AWESOME! You won the game!!!” It was a fun night being able to cheer on our husbands and fathers and experience a WIN!!!
