We were able to attend the Brigham City Temple open house together as a family. What an amazing experience to be able to take are sweet children into the temple and so they can see for themselves the beauty of the Lord’s House. Before we went into the temple we talked with our children about the temple and how it is the House of the Lord and that is where we can be sealed together as a family for eternity and do work for those that have passed. The kids seemed excited to be able to go in and see the temple.
As we were walking through the temple, we had a sweet experience given to us. Owen came up to both Mark and I and tugged on our clothes to get our attention. When we asked what he wanted he asked us this question. “Where is Jesus and when do we get to see him? What pure and simple faith a child has! We explained to him that when we come to the temple we can feel the Savior spirit in our hearts and that it makes us feel warm and happy inside. What a great teaching moment that was for both parent and child.
The temple was absolutely beautiful! It is very fitting to be called the House of the Lord. We are so grateful for the knowledge of the gospel and for temples on the earth. We know that within these walls, we can make the necessary covenants with our Heavenly Father to ensure that we return to him again and to be able to be sealed together for all eternity. What peace it brings my soul to know these truths and to be able to help those that have passed on to receive the same blessing that we have been promised if we faithfully honor and keep our covenants.
