For the past two months, we have spent most Saturdays going to both Vanessa and Owen’s soccer games. They both have really enjoyed learning how to play the game and have done very well. Vanessa loves playing in the forward position. She is getting better with her kicks and dribbling. She also has gotten over her fear of being aggressive on the field and will now go after the ball. She has made lots of saves and is quite the little player. She has scored 2 goals and we couldn’t have been more excited for her. It probably was quite embarrassing for her to see her parents jumping up and down and screaming “Go Vanessa!!”
Owen is becoming a good little player as well. Once he figured out that he kicks and dribbles better using the left foot, things got easier for him. Yes, we have a lefty! He is very good at getting in the action and kicking the ball away from the other team. He was able to score a goal in one of his games and our reaction was the same as it was with Vanessa. We were jumping up and down screaming “Go Owen!” Actually all the parents and his coach was doing the same thing! He was so excited to score a goal!
It has been so fun going to all the games and supporting our kids. It is fun to see them learn new skills and to see them enjoy the game!
