I was able to celebrate my 28th birthday with my cute family in Salt Lake. We decided to make it a weekend getaway and stay the night at a hotel close to Temple Square so we could go look at all the Christmas lights.
We booked the Salt Lake Plaza hotel and headed down when Mark got off work. The kids love staying over places so they were really excited. We checked in then headed over to City Creek for dinner. We wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory but the wait was over 2 hours so we opted for Johnny Rockets. We should have stopped at a restaurant on the way down so we could avoid all the holiday crowds because the mall was packed! After eating, Mark stopped in at the Cheesecake Factory and was able to get a couple of slices of cheesecake to take back to the hotel for my birthday cake. We then bundled up and headed over to Temple Square. We walked through it pretty fast because the kids started to get really cold and Vanessa wasn’t feeling the best. We were able to see what we wanted to see and the kids thought all the lights were pretty neat.
After getting back in the hotel, we snuggled and they sang Happy Birthday to me. My favorite cheesecake was a White Chocolate Blueberry. It was delicious!! We then found a Disney movie playing on TV and watched that until it was time for bed. At that time, Vanessa started to complain of a ear ache and not feeling good. Sariah nose was stuffy so she wasn’t feeling the best either. Needless to say, it was a sleepless night for me but I was grateful that I was able to spend my birthday with my special family.
