Vanessa’s school is very active in promoting community and developing skills that will better help the children serve and be active participants in the community. The school does a weekly Community Circle where one grade is in charge and they show the other grades what they are learning. Vanessa’s grade was in charge of the first community circle and I had the opportunity of going and watching her. They sang a song they learned about the life cycle of a plant. I was very impressed with their knowledge. It was fun to see all the kids sing, dance and get excited. What fun way to show students and parents what the kids are learning about each week.
I was also able to go and surprise Vanessa and eat lunch with her. She was so excited to have me there. She had fun showing me how to get the food and where she sat with her friends. We enjoyed our little lunch date together! She is such a sweet daughter and I love making her feel loved and special.
