During the summer, Mark is very busy at work and with it being crunch time and all the schools needing to have their computer stuff all done, we don’t get to see him too much and there are lots of late nights.  We decided that it was time to take a road trip to Delta while Mark worked on a few projects. I drove the kids and I the three hours to Delta. I am always a bit nervous to drive that long alone with the kids but we didn’t have to stop once! What a tremendous blessing!

While there in Delta, Grandma Mendoza took us and the kids to get an ice cream cone in the new deli in Quality. They were huge and very filling! While eating the ice cream, the kids wanted to ride the $.10 horse. I remember riding that thing when I was Vanessa’s age. I can’t believe it still works and that it still is $.10 to ride! They loved it and had a lot of fun!

We also were able to celebrate both Vanessa and Grandma Rowley’s birthday. My parents weren’t able to make it up for Vanessa’s party due to school starting so we had a combined one in Delta. Great Grandma Rowley turned 91 this year and Vanessa 6. Quite the age difference but such a special thing to celebrate their birthdays together. Grandma came over to the house and we had a nice birthday dinner and cake and ice cream.  After the treats, Grandma and Grandpa Mendoza had a surprise pinata for the kids! They were so excited to break that thing open. It took them a few good swings (and help from Mom, Reagan, and Maria) to get the candy to come out.

We had such a fun time down visiting my family.  The kids always love going to Delta and playing at Grandpa and Grandma “Doza’s” house!
