A fun science project that we did was make a paper mâché volcano. We had two Gatorade bottles and we cut strips of newspaper and dipped them in the “glue” and them wrapped them around the bottle until they were completely covered which meant the kids used up all the strips. We then set them outside to dry. The next day, the kids painted their volcanos. Owens was of course green and Vanessa’s was pink. They had a lot of fun decorating them and it was a great activity to keep their little hands busy!
When they were completed and dried, it was time to make the volcano erupt! I mixed some dish soap, vinegar and ref food coloring together and then put some baking soda inside the bottle. Next, we pour the mixture into the bottle and watched the “lava” flow. The kids thought it was so cool!
